More than 100 years of protecting people and their goods
Liberty Mutual was born over 110 years ago in Boston, where the expression "fair and square" is carved in stone. These three small words played an essential part in the creation of the United States of America, and they were also the foundation on which Liberty Mutual was built.
Still to this day, this expression is the driving force behind Liberty's identity.
Our entrance into Europe
Liberty Seguros has been operating in Spain since 2001, Portugal since 2003 and Ireland since 2011. On January 1st, 2019, Liberty Insurance Ireland and Liberty Seguros (Portugal) merged with Liberty Seguros (Spain). This fusion results in sharing resources and expertise and having customers as the top priority.
Following this merger, we continued to trade in Ireland under 'Liberty Insurance' brand and 'Liberty Seguros' and 'Genesis by Liberty Seguros' brands in Portugal, as branches of Liberty Seguros Compañía De Seguros y Reaseguros, S.A. (Liberty Seguros).
A combined effort
Moving into this multi-market operation allowed us to better serve our customers by creating a more efficient and solid company with access to a larger pool of global resources.
This structure enables us to share capabilities and expertise across all business areas. In addition, as a larger organisation, we can guarantee that we have the best people and technological delivery for our customers.
