Liberty Seguros, acquired by Generali Group on 31 January 2024, operates in Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Northern Ireland. With over 1,800 employees, we serve more than 4 million customers in Europe.

We offer a range of insurance products across our markets, primarily operating the Motor, Home, Life and SME Lines of bussiness. We work hard every day to support our customers and our people, so they can protect their families, build their businesses and invest in their futures.

SME Lines

Liberty has been operating in Spain since 2001, in Portugal since 2003, and in Ireland and Northern Ireland since 2011. In 2018, we merged these businesses to create one company operating in a multi-country model.  Now, as one team we have the scale, resources and experience to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers. It has also allowed us to invest in building innovative digital capabilities.  

Our investment in technology and our commitment to innovation and the personalisation of products and services has led us to become the first 100% digital and cloud-based insurer in Europe.

We distribute our products through multiple channels, including direct, intermediaries, institutional and bancassurance relationships, and affinity groups.

These channels allow us to distribute products from different brands: Liberty Seguros and Génesis in Portugal and Spain — in addition to the Regal brand — and Liberty Insurance in Ireland.

By combining an investment of over €100 million in technology and our over 110 years of experience, we built a digital ecosystem that allows us to offer modular products quickly and efficiently.  

Our new cloud-based business model is allowing for new pro-consumer products which are disrupting the insurance industry. With a choice of intuitive modules, customers can tailor insurance coverage to their individual requirements. Our modular approach offers the greatest example of our commitment to transparency and prioritising the needs of our customer.
